Ask anyone that knows me… that truly knows me, I have difficulties being in my own skin.  Childhood, stigmas and just plain life can create insecurities in all of us.  As a child I remember dancing all of the time.  It was fun and free.  And then I can remember the moment someone made me feel like I was doing something dirty and I no longer danced.

Fast forward to 2010.  I’ve known Bernadette since I was a little girl but I was recently reconnected with her in 2010.  Bernadette’s freeness and confidence always drew me in.  And I wanted that.  I’ve been privileged to know Bernadette because she has taught me things about being a woman that not even my own mother has taught me.

One of the contributing factors to Bernadette’s freeness is her love and passion for dancing. Bernadette believes in healing physically and emotionally through movement.  As a certified dance instructor, Bernadette’s classes and workshops integrate mind, body and soul work for women.  In her classes, she creates a supportive, nurturing environment that invites people to “just be” while challenging them to connect with their authentic selves (which can be overwhelming in itself and yet so necessary).

Her signature workshop, Emotion in Motion, is a full, day-long journey engaging the mind, body and soul. Weaving together the use of music, percussions (often live drumming), meditation, and hands-on healing, this workshop creates an impactful, life-changing experience for each participant.

Just about every experience with Bernadette is life-changing and impactful for me and I wanted to share my experience with you.  Check out the introductory video for the Emotion in Motion workshop as well as some pictures of her previous workshop that was held in Jan 2014.  See if you can spot me dancing!

Bernadette’s next Emotion in Motion workshop is January 4, 2015.  To learn more and purchase tickets CLICK HERE.  Check her out on Facebook and subscribe to her site www.bernadettepleasant.com for information on upcoming workshops and events.
