Newark Symphony Hall proudly welcomes legendary comedian Dick Gregory and The Godfather of Comedy Paul Mooney to the Sarah Vaughan Concert hall in the The Great Legends of Comedy show for one night only!  Both Dick Gregory and Paul Mooney are known for their alarming candor, especially when it comes to race relations in America – sometimes delivered in a joke, sometimes just delivered matter-of-factly.  Such as:

Just being a Negro doesn’t qualify you to understand the race situation any more than being sick makes you an expert on medicine.- Dick Gregory

I have nothing to do with racism in America; it was here when I got here. – Paul Mooney

Political promises are much like marriage vows. They are made at the beginning of the relationship between candidate and voter, but are quickly forgotten. – Dick Gregory

The king of comedy is dead. Richard Pryor was the king of comedy. The rest of them are the king of copycats. – Paul Mooney
