Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Newark Municipal Council members, Deputy Mayor of Community Engagement Jacqueline Quiles, and other dignitaries will host a Latina Empowerment Brunch on Friday, September 30, from 11am to 2pm at the Robert Treat Hotel in downtown Newark.

The event will bring prominent Latina women together for a morning brunch dedicated to helping Latina professionals and students achieve professional and personal success. Panelists include: Telemundo News Anchor Odalys Molina; Univision Reporter Esperanza Ceballos; award-winning Poet Maria Teresa Fernandez, also known as “Mariposa;” SEIU NJ State Council Executive Director and New Jersey State Democratic Committee Vice Chair Lizette Delgado-Polanco; Consumer Sales Manager for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey Mylene Colom, and Hand Foundation NJ CEO Dr. Sandrie Serrano-Bermudez. Attendees will enjoy music by DJ Millie Milz.

The morning brunch will bring professionals and students together for talk about professional and personal success with the panelists.
