Taste local, domestic and international beers, and sample meat and vegetarian chili during the 10th Anniversary of An Evening of Hot Chili & Cool Brew at the Newark Museum on Thursday, October 20, beginning at 6 pm.  Participants will have access to the historic Ballantine House – once home of the famed beer and ale brewing family – and the featured exhibitions Modern Heroics: 75 Years of  African-American Expressionism and Newark Stories: Four Newarkers Who  Made a Difference.

A $135 Pint Level sponsorship includes two tickets to a private VIP celebration from 5-6 pm and will include the opportunity to sample exclusive beers not available to the general public. General admission tickets are $50 and $40 for groups of 10 or more.

Planned by the Newark Museum Business & Community Council and the Newark Museum Volunteer Organization, all proceeds from the event support the educational programs and operation of the Museum. The presenting sponsor for An Evening of Hot Chili & Cool Brew is Ballantine Fine Ales & Lagers, with additional support by McCarter & English, LLP.

Guests will enjoy beers that include Anchor, SweetWater, New Belgium, Boulevard, Rodenbach, Brooklyn, Captain Lawrence, Clown Shoes, Duvel, Harpoon, Ommegang, Shiner, and Sierra Nevada provided by Peerless Beverage Company; Abita, Austin Eastciders, Bronx, Colony Meadery, Dogfish, Downeast Cider House, Jersey Cider Works, Oskar Blues, River Horse, SixPoint, Smuttynose, Troegs, Two Roads, and Yards provided by Hunterdon Brewing Company; and samplings from local brewers that include BeachHaus, Climax, Gaslight, Kilkenny Ale House, Left Hand Brewing, New Jersey Beer Co., and Redd’s Biergarten.  Guests will take home a memento pub tasting glass.

Chili and other food samples will be provided by Burger Walla, Corrado, Eclectic Catering, Encore Catering, Exquisite Entertaining, Frungillo Caterers, The Green Chickpea, Hobby’s Delicatessen & Restaurant, Kilkenny Ale House, Laurence Craig Catering, McGovern’s Tavern, Nana’s Deli & Restaurant, Redd’s Biergarten and The Ultimate Caterer.
