The National Association of Black Accountants Northern – NJ Chapter will host “Invest in Yourself”, their annual kickoff reception on Wednesday September 28, 2016 at The Metropolitan Room at the Newark Club. The reception will introduce NABA and their current fiscal year vision to current and prospective members, corporate partners and students.
This year NABA NNJ added an award ceremony to honor some of NJs Finest black businesspeople and institutions that have a commitment to diversity. Honorees include Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche, Personal Finance Education Expert, along with Natasha L. Rogers, Community Investments Relationship Manager at Santander Holdings and Danica Dilligard, Partner at Ernst & Young. Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka will be a guest speaker at the event with the Keynote Address being given by Alfred Blake, Assistant Director of Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Programs RBS.
These businesspeople and organizations are proof of the strong group of black professionals here in NJ. “If we all worked together we could create a powerful economic network. As accountants and financial management specialists, NABA NNJ wants to be that bridge,” said Cynthia Lubin, President of NABA NNJ.
A portion of the proceeds from this fundraiser will help to support the costs of sending 35-40 students from the NABA NNJ student chapter network to the Eastern Region Student Conference in Pittsburgh, PA.
