This Saturday, the Newark FLEA Market (located at 120 N. 11th Street) opens its doors for a celebration of Black History Month (and for some, the beginning of Black History Life).

With over 30 vendors in attendance, the festivities begin at 12:30pm and will include FREE lunch, followed by a discussion of “Art As A Business,” led by Dr. Jah Jah Shakur. There will also be talks on the #SupportLocal Movement and how one can give support to local businesses and artists.

The event will be rounded out by the first annual Newark Poets Review, where you will hear – in panels and performance – from the voices of: Mystic, Shaheed K. Woods (aka The Beacon of Light), Se’lah, Queen Assata, Mia X ,Sean Battle, Mary Jane Watson, Uninvited Maine, Tigga, and BlkBrry Molassez.
