The Salvation Army has announced that it will celebrate its 150th Anniversary of “Doing The Most Good” in 2015!

To commemorate this milestone in the organization’s history, the Salvation Army Newark Area Services will host its first-ever “Design A Bin” contest.  The “Design A Bin” contest will serve as an Arts Education platform for Newark area school aged youth (K-12) and college students, where the amateur artists will work on their art under the supervision of various youth organizations and classrooms throughout the City of Newark.  Once completed, they will submit their artwork for consideration by the judging committee, and the winners will have their work featured on the Salvation Army collection bins in 2015.  By using their collection bins as public art canvases, the Salvation Army will also celebrate its 150th anniversary with the community they serve.
