Yesterday marked the second installment of this year’s Horizon Foundation Sounds of the City outdoor concert series at NJPAC.  Add to that the fact that it was also the day George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic brought the mothership to Newark.

The crowd of people who converged onto Theater Square was incredible, spanning every inch of the outdoor space and across Center Street.  Some people set up shop in Military Park just to hear the show even if they couldn’t get close enough to see the stage.  The Newark Times was there to capture a few photos.

George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic put on a great show and brought their trademark high energy funk experience to Newark.  And when the night came to an end, everyone walked away smiling.  And the mothership took off into the sky.
