For the year 2014 the world experienced some major events. Some good. Some…not so much. However, we cannot deny that having lived through another 365 days we all have some wonderful things to be very happy for. Here is a look at a collection of some of the events that took place over 2014.
And that’s not all!
2014 was also the year of:
• The Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act went into effect.
• General Motors recalled 780,000 vehicles and announced compensations of at least $1 million to families of at least 13 people who died as a result of a faulty ignition switch.
• Islamic militants belonging to a group called Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) took control of Fallujah, Mosul, and Tikrit, Iraq.
• Same-sex marriage became legal in Oregon, Pennsylvania, Illinois Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, Indiana, Nevada, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
• The XXII Winter Olympics took place in Sochi, Russia.
• ISIS releases videos showing the beheadings or claiming to have beheaded U.S. journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, British aid worker David Haines, Alan Henning, and Peter Kassig.
As we look ahead to the good (and inevitably not so good) that 2015 has to bring, let’s take a moment to reflect. And we would LOVE to hear from you and what some of your personal challenges, triumphs, and aha moments were for 2014. So share your comments below!
