The New Jersey Chapter of the Black Alliance for Educational Options (NJBAEO) in partnership with the City of Newark will celebrate the 2016 graduation classes of students within the City of Newark with a “Knowledge Lives In Newark” photo shoot on July 17, 2016 at Newark City Hall located at 920 Broad Street.
BAEO is a national non-profit education advocacy organization, which aims to increase access to high-quality educational options for African American children by supporting transformational education reform initiatives and parental choice policies.
“It is important to celebrate the beauty and diversity of education in urban communities,” said Shanell L. Dunns, New Jersey Deputy Director of BAEO. “Newark scholars represent a variety students ranging from traditional and non-traditional college graduates, to students headed to college or the military after completing high school.”
The “Knowledge Lives In Newark” photo shoot is a part of NJBAEO’s #BondingBrickScholars campaign, which aims to highlight the wide range of academic excellence that thrives throughout the city. Through this photo shoot, BAEO hopes to encourage the future success of Newark scholars by promoting academia on all levels and the positive impact of a united city.
