Tuesday, June 16th from 3-8pm at Packard Lofts (entrance at 6 E. Kinney Street) the Newark art community is being invited to attend the first Newark POP Shop pop-up art gallery, showing “A Survey of Work – 1980’s to Present” by artist Victor Davson. The pop up exhibition features paintings and drawings by Victor Davson spanning about 30 years, in preparation for a comprehensive survey of his work at Ramapo College in the fall. Victor Davson also serves as Executive Director of Aljira A Center For Contemporary Art.
“Newark Pop Up Shops is a platform for artists, independent designers, retailers, properties and the city to gain exposure through experimental marketing. Activating vacant spaces with programing, art and retail patches the holes in development, creates a positive energy and answers the question, ‘Why not Newark?'” – Melvin Sykes, Assurance Realty
All artwork will be available for purchase. The Newark POP Shop pop-up art gallery is sponsored by Assurance Realty and The Newark Times.
