New Jersey has taken a pioneering step in workforce innovation with the launch of a Request for Information (RFI) for Concierge Services aimed at highly-skilled, professional, and globally-mobile legal immigrants. This unique initiative, spearheaded by Choose New Jersey, is the first of its kind in the nation, designed to ease the transition for skilled immigrants by providing support outside of traditional immigration services.

Governor Phil Murphy expressed that this initiative strengthens New Jersey’s position as a leader in workforce development, saying, “By offering skilled immigrants critical support, we’re strengthening our economy, empowering our communities, and reinforcing New Jersey’s status as ‘The World’s State.’ This program ensures that New Jersey remains the top destination for businesses and workers seeking unmatched opportunities.”

Wesley Mathews, President and CEO of Choose New Jersey, highlighted the state’s growing immigrant workforce, with foreign-born residents making up over 24% of the population and 29% of the labor force. “New Jersey continues to attract skilled workers from around the globe, and this new Arrival Concierge Service will ensure we support these workers, securing our position as a global business hub well into the future,” said Mathews.

The program, which aims to address the challenges immigrants face when settling into New Jersey, includes services such as housing support, English language services, employment assistance, cultural orientation, and other essential activities for smooth settlement. This initiative will complement the state’s strong momentum in international business expansion and provide valuable resources to skilled immigrants, ensuring they can thrive in New Jersey’s workforce.

The RFI calls for vendors to submit proposals to provide these services in-state as well as through Choose New Jersey’s international offices in India, the Asia Pacific, Europe, Israel, and Ireland. Vendors interested in responding to this request have until March 7, 2025 to submit their information electronically.
