The inaugural Ubuntu Awards: Newark’s 30 Under 30, presented by Them Cloud Kids, will honor 30 distinguishable women, men, and groups under the age of thirty whose powerful community work and collaborations with notable organizations and individuals have left a lasting impression in Newark, New Jersey. This event is intended to encourage leading community figures and influencers from the tri-state area to network with like-minded individuals while enjoying a backdrop of catered dinner, performances, and impactful speeches from passionate youth.
Organizations and individuals who exude Ubuntu in their daily life and through skills or abilities that have positively impacted the Newark community will be nominated for the awards. The general public is encouraged to nominate anyone who fits the criteria of the descriptions on the nomination page found here. Members from Them Cloud Kids will review and select 5 candidates for each award based on merit and will vote on the awardees.
After all nominations have been submitted by September 20th 2016 a poll will be opened for the public to vote for and read about each person/group nominated. Voting closes on October 10th 2016 and the person/groups with the most votes will be awarded on the evening of the Awards show on November 12th 2016.
