Precious Little Ladies (PLL), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization will host its first ever Family Empowerment Fair on Saturday, June 16th, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The event, which will take place at East Orange Stem Academy, located at 129 Renshaw Ave, East Orange, NJ, is designed to give attendees the information and resources needed to protect themselves and loved ones from sexual abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault. The Family Empowerment Fair will host several workshops including a free self-defense class, a social media etiquette workshop, and a sexual abuse awareness seminar. The event is open to adults and children to help raise awareness and increase the early knowledge of these issues.

Precious Little Ladies was established in 2015 by Aziza Kibibi in response to her own need for support services after personally overcoming trauma and abuse during her childhood and young adulthood. The organization seeks to provide survivors of child molestation, domestic violence, and sexual assault with the knowledge and support they may need after experiencing such traumas. Through events like this and other workshops and promotions, Kibibi and her team are working to aid the prevention of future incidents of abuse from occurring.

Precious Little Ladies supplies women and children assistance through their Survivor Support Group which gives victims a safe place to share their experiences and gain support from other members. The groups meet on a monthly basis. Along with the Survivors Support Group, the organization provides programs like “Girl, We’ve Got You Covered”® which helps donate health and beauty products to women and children escaping abuse to assist them on their road to recovery. These items include, but are not limited to, toiletries, makeup, and feminine products that many recovery shelters often times do not distribute.

When asked about the event, Aziza states “We’ve designed this fair in a way that makes it easy for the community to identify resources in and around the community. Asking for help with issues such as child abuse and sexual assault is hard enough. Precious Little Ladies wants to make finding who to ask as easy as possible.” To register for the event and learn more about how individuals can help promote the prevention of sexual abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and child molestation, visit https://bit.ly/2H6wbYd.
