Great Oaks Legacy Charter School (GOLCS) is opening its doors to all Newark residents this winter and spring for a series of Community Resource Fairs and Open Houses. Designed to support families regardless of their enrollment status, these events provide a direct link to essential services, health screenings, and educational information.

The series begins on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, with a special focus on winter relief. In partnership with Jersey Cares, GOLCS will provide free winter coats to families on a first-come, first-served basis.

A Focus on College Readiness and Community Care

Ranked No. 1 in College Readiness among Newark charter schools by U.S. News & World Report, Great Oaks Legacy is leveraging its platform to serve as a community hub.

“Our responsibility as a school goes beyond academics,” said Jared Taillefer, CEO of Great Oaks Legacy Charter School. “These fairs allow us to open our doors and make sure families leave with support that can make a difference in their everyday lives.”
