On Saturday, October 26th, Express Newark will come alive with the sounds of DJs, breakdancers, graffiti artists, and the vibrant pulse of Hip-Hop culture, all aligned for one powerful mission—to fight hunger and homelessness in our communities.

This isn’t just another event; it’s a call to action. With over 994,800 individuals grappling with food insecurity across New Jersey, Hip Hop Against Hunger steps up to use music as a unifying force, making sure no one is left behind. For a decade, this benefit show has channeled the energy of Hip-Hop into real impact, collecting more than $14,673 in donations, over 5,000 pounds of food, and 600 boxes filled with clothing and essential toiletries. From Florida to New Jersey, these efforts have reached food banks and shelters where the need is greatest.

This year, the stakes are even higher. With a goal of raising $15,000, Hip Hop Against Hunger aims to sustain its community fridge and support the essential programs that serve over 75,000 people annually throughout Newark and Essex County. Every dollar, every canned good, and every moment of solidarity will go directly to families and individuals in crisis, ensuring that hunger and financial hardship do not define their futures.

The event will be a family-friendly gathering, inviting everyone to join in not just as spectators but as participants in change. Live performances, art installations, a raffle, and inspiring guest speakers will make this an experience that celebrates culture while keeping the focus on the urgent need at hand.

Newark has long been a city where activism meets art, and Hip Hop Against Hunger embodies that spirit. It’s more than a benefit show; it’s a testament to the power of community, and it reminds us all that we can make a difference, together.
