NJPAC presents the “King of Caribbean Comedy”, Majah Hype, on Sunday, May 13th at 3:00 PM & 7:00 PM at Victoria Theater. Fast-rising funnyman Majah Hype makes his NJPAC debut with an evening of character-based stand-up hilarity.
This NYC-based comedian launched his career as a social media sensation with a series of viral videos that won fans across the Caribbean diaspora. Since then, Hype’s uncanny ability to capture the voices and mannerisms of practically every Caribbean nationality has turned him into one of the world’s leading ambassadors of Caribbean culture. His expert accents, crack comedic timing, and true-to-life material connect people from all walks of life – but behind his humor lies a serious commitment to encouraging Caribbean unity.
Hype’s resume extends further than comedian. He’s a former DJ and artist, and can play several musical instruments. Since taking his talent from the web to the live stage, Hype has earned international acclaim, playing to sold-out houses across the U.S., the United Kingdom, and the Caribbean region. He has also been featured on radio and television, including appearances on BET, Hot 97, Power 105, and The Wendy Williams Show, to name a few.
