Mayor Ras J. Baraka, the Newark Municipal Council, and Deputy Mayor for Community Engagement Jacqueline Quiles will host the Latin Festival on Sunday, August 2, from Noon to 9pm., on Bloomfield Avenue between Lake Street and Clifton Avenue, in Newark’s North Ward.
Latin Festival 2015 will celebrate Latino arts and culture with a wide array of fun family-oriented activities, including live music and entertainment, free health screenings, raffles, arts and crafts, inflatable bouncers, and sports for children, as well as information from key community stakeholders in government, non-profit, and community organizations.
La Mega 97.9 FM DJ, humanitarian, and activist Alex Sensation will be the festival’s special guest.
The festival is co-hosted by the City of Newark, La MEGA 97.9 Radio Station,
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation, Well Care Health Plan, Verizon, Amerigroup Community Care, United Healthcare Community Plan, Pueblo Supermarket, Twin City Supermarket, Aplus Computers, Visual Protection Security Service Inc., and Investors Bank.
