The Chad School Foundation, in partnership with TandemEd, have announced the Win-Win drive in connection with their Own Your Story Newark initiative. Over the next three weeks, November 16th – December 7th, Black people in Newark who participate in the movement by sharing their story will be entered into weekly prize raffles. On December 11th, one person will be selected to win a grand prize of $1000.
Own Your Story Newark facilitates platforms for Black residents to be seen, heard, and respected. Community members are invited to get involved and share their stories in three different ways:
| – Take a survey (online version available at www.surveymonkey.com/r/1973) – Participate in a virtual Own Your Story Community Forum – Create and upload a 3 minute video or voice notes to the Own Your Story Newark Archive |
Each week, for the next three weeks, Black Newarkers who complete the 10-minute survey will be entered into a weekly raffle for a $25 gift card; and those who upload a video to the story archive or post it to social media and tag @ownyourstoryNewark will be entered into a weekly raffle for a $50 gift card. Ten (10) winners in each category will be selected each week.
Residents who attend one of the Own Your Story Community Forums will be entered into the grand prize raffle. One person will win the $1000 cash prize and four others will win $250.

Led by young people from the community—Own Your Story Fellows—under the guidance of a City Manager and Newark residents who have committed to steering the initiative, Own Your Story Newark is built on leveraging the power of storytelling in order to unite Black neighborhoods in Newark around healthy perspectives and positive narratives that will encourage self-reliance and uplift all of Newark’s residents.

We want people to know that if you’re still here, surviving, and willing to help better your community, you’re already a part of the winner’s circle. As Own Your Story Newark works to amplify the voices of the people, our plan is to pour tangible support into the community as well over these next three weeks,” said NyJee Coram.

Weekly winners will be selected and announced on Mondays November 23rd, November 30th and December 7th on social media by @ownyourstoryNewark on Instagram and Facebook. The Grand Prize winner and runner ups will be announced on Friday, December 11th.
