Makerhoods, the microentrepreneur-focused economic development organization headquartered at Newark’s famed Krueger-Scott mansion on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., is currently hosting a series of virtual workshops to help facilitate the successful application of potential “Makers” in the live/work development.
Approved applicants will be able to rent an apartment and a retail space for a combined cost starting at $1,800. Newark Makerhoods is a springboard for programming centered around entrepreneurship, the arts, history, community, and so much more like.
The first workshop was held on Wednesday, March 24th. Two additional workshops will be held at 6:30pm on April 14th and May 5th. The workshop will cover:
- Reviewing the application process and the selection lens
- Providing insight into what the selection committee will be looking for in each question
- Going through each question and break-down specific business topics
This workshop is beneficial on its own as a business planning basic, but is designed to help you think through the application and submit a strong application.
There will also be time for Q&A.
Attendees who stay through the whole workshop will also have access to a 15-minute application review (limited seats).
