The Newark History Society will present “Open Up the Door, I’ll Get it Myself: Migration Stories of Newark’s African-American Women,” on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 6:00pm in the Chase Room at NJPAC.
 
Drawing on oral histories, Linda Caldwell Epps will discuss the great migration of blacks from the South in the last century.  Dr. Epps is the president and CEO of 1804 Consultants and the former director of the New Jersey Historical Society.  The Women’s Association of NJPAC’s Cultural Legacy Committee is co-sponsoring this program.
 
Parking is available in NJPAC Lots A and C and the Military Park Garage for $2 with validation available at the program.  This program is open to the public at no charge and light refreshments will be available.
