The City will support this annual salute to opera by hosting a series of performances by Trilogy: An Opera Company of “Garvey: The Opera” at various sites around the City, including high schools, colleges, and churches. Mr. Maynor plays the role of the legendary African-American leader, Marcus Garvey.

National Opera Week was created by OPERA America to serve as a communications focal point for the art form, to promote awareness of the art form. During National Opera Week, operatic organizations across the country hold free performances and advocate for legislation and policies to support opera and the performing arts.
