The New Jersey Devils have announced details for the team’s official virtual Draft Lottery Show Presented by New Jersey Lottery, which will be held on Friday, June 26 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. EST at NHL.com/Devils. Members of “The Black and Red” will enjoy a 30-minute Exclusive Pre-Show at 7:30 p.m. ESTprior to the 8 p.m. EST start for the general public. New Jersey will have the sixth-best odds , a 7.5 percent chance, to land the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. The organization has won the Draft Lottery twice in the past three years, in 2017 and 2019, and selected Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes respectively. The 2017 selection marked the first time in team history that the Devils held the number one overall selection. The NHL Draft Lottery will be televised live at 8:00 p.m. by NBCSN and NHL Network in the United States, and Sportsnet and TVA in Canada, as well as eventually streamed across NHL digital and social platforms.
In anticipation of discovering where the New Jersey Devils will select in the 2020 NHL Draft, the virtual Draft Lottery Show will feature one hour of live programming highlighting exclusive interviews with New Jersey Devils players, alumni, management and others. Guests of the exclusive pre-show for “Black and Red” members, which starts at 7:30 p.m. EST, include 2019 #1 overall pick, Jack Hughes, Martin Brodeur and Chico Resch. The 8:00 p.m. EST show open to the general public will include additional interviews from 2017 #1 overall selection Nico Hischier, Alternate Captain Travis Zajac, Olympic gold medalist Meghan Duggan, Interim General Manager Tom Fitzgerald, New Jersey Devils President Jake Reynolds and others. The event will be hosted by Devils’ broadcaster Matt Loughlin and team reporters Amanda Stein and Chris Wescott.
