Five of New Jersey’s leading AIDS service organizations have unified their efforts into a state-wide event across five locations. Most locally, the NJ AIDS WALK 2019 will be held at Branch Brook Park on Sunday, May 5, 2019 1pm-3pm.

Attendees can walk on their own or with a team, here in Newark  with the hosting agency the North Jersey Community Research Initiative (NJCRI)! NJCRI has been serving Essex County and surrounding areas for 30 years, originally on the cutting edge of HIV clinical trials, and now prevention and treatment. This year in conjunction with the walk, the first ever NJ PRIDE RUN will take place. This 5K will be included in 4 of the locations: Newark, Asbrury Park, Ridgewood, and Morris County! Registration is FREE for walkers; for runners there is a $25 registration fee. To register, simply visit: www.njaidswalk.org.

Local Ambassadors this year will be:

  •  Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka
  •  NJ State Senator M. Teresa Ruiz
  •  East Orange Mayor Ted Green

Collaborating AIDS service providers hosting this year’s walk include: North Jersey Community Research Initiative (NJCRI) in Newark, Buddies of NJ in Ridgewood, NJ AIDS Services in Morristown, South Jersey AIDS Alliance in Atlantic City, and The Center in Asbury Park in Asbury Park.
