Poetry meets jazz in this free online performance presented by New Jersey Performing Arts Center. You’re invited to join in on a soul-stirring exploration of blues, lineage and the work of Black female poets, featuring poems layered with jazz music to reveal dimension and meaning. The program offers a great virtual experience for Newark families.

This creative collaboration is curated by City Verses Artistic Director Mark Gross and poets Evan Cutts and Attorious DaCunta.

Join a workshop to write poems set to jazz, or improvise music inspired by poetry. Read your work aloud at one of the community poetry shares, and enjoy performances showcasing poets and jazz artists from Newark and beyond. NJPAC is also hosting two virtual performance viewing parties on Friday, April 16th and 23rd @ 7:00 PM
