Savion Glover’s The Opera-tainer with Junior Church is a musical composition that explores how we hear and interpret the sound of dance, while also examining the issues that confront humankind today. Through the intermingling of vocals, harmony and dance, this exciting operetta creates a multisensory painting of rhythm and movement.
For the third consecutive summer, NJPAC Dance Advisor Savion Glover (The Tap Dance Kid, Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk, Shuffle Along) presents young, gifted performers in an original work that can be seen only at the Arts Center. This legendary tap dancer and choreographer coaches NJPAC’s Arts Education students to appear in a production that encourages them to make giant strides toward expressing their authentic voices.
