Prudential Center is set to deliver an extraordinary season of NCAA basketball, bringing high-profile games and prestigious tournaments to Newark’s premier venue. Known as New Jersey’s entertainment hub, The Rock will host thrilling matchups that every college basketball fan will want to experience.
Opened in 2007, Prudential Center is home to Seton Hall University’s NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball team, the New Jersey Devils, the PWHL’s New York Sirens, and hosts more than 210 events each year. Ranked as a top-five global venue, the arena draws over two million visitors annually.
Seton Hall’s Pirates, led by the 2024 Peter A. Carlesimo Metropolitan Coach of the Year, Shaheen Holloway, are ready to return for their 18th season at Prudential Center. Coming off a 25-12 record and an NIT Championship, the Pirates will kick off their season against Saint Peter’s on Monday, November 4. Key matchups include a BIG EAST-Big 12 Battle against Oklahoma State on December 8 and a high-profile game against UConn Huskies on February 15, airing on FOX.
The action continues with the Saatva Empire Classic on November 24, featuring Villanova Wildcats and Maryland Terrapins. Villanova, with a storied history in the Empire Classic, and Maryland, led by former Seton Hall coach Kevin Willard, promise an electrifying contest.
The Never Forget Tribute Classic returns on December 21 with a New Jersey showdown between Rutgers and Princeton. With Rutgers boasting a top-ranked freshman class and Princeton reigning as Ivy League champs, this rivalry game will be broadcast on FS1 at 12:00 PM.
A historic highlight will be the Coretta Scott King Classic on January 20, the first-ever Division I women’s basketball doubleheader honoring Mrs. King. Featuring top-20 teams UCLA, Baylor, Texas, and Maryland, the event celebrates female empowerment in sports and will be nationally televised on FOX.
Capping the season, Prudential Center will host the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball East Regional. The Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds on March 27 and 29 will determine which team advances to the Final Four, marking the first NCAA tournament at The Rock since 2011.
