Slide the City will transform Warren Street, between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd and University Street, into the biggest block party of the summer when it arrives to Newark on August 20th, 2016.
Families and friends will slip and splash down the giant waterslide while onlookers enjoy the surrounding block party. “Newark is an awesome addition to our schedule this year,” said Erin Gehring, the Slide the City-Newark Event Director. “We are excited to bring the community together through this thrilling event!”
This block party will be better than the average summer bash. All participants are invited to take a break from the heat by speeding through three city blocks on inner tubes. Along with the one-of-a-kind slide, the block party will include food, music, local vendors and street entertainers. Slide the City – Newark guarantees that your experience on-or-off the slide will be a great one.

Participants can purchase a single, triple, ultimate or all day slider pass during a selected wave time and are encouraged to sign up before July 22nd to take advantage of the current rate. Pricing starts at $30. All those over 5 years of age and 46 inches tall are welcome to slide. Portions of proceeds from all events are donated to a local charity. Slide the City-Newark is proud to be partnered with F.U.N – Families Uniting New Jersey: a nonprofit organization bringing family and community oriented events for all ages and cultural backgrounds.
