New Jersey Performing Arts Center presents an evening of contemporary R&B and soul with chart-topper Tamar Braxton (WE’s Braxton Family Values, FOX’s The Real) and her special guest Joe, a two-time GRAMMY winner known for seasoning his smooth brand of R&B with hip-hop beats.
In the recording studio, on television, and on concert stages across the country, Tamar Braxton has become known for sassy, smart, high-energy music. This Soul Train Award winner and GRAMMY nominee offers a mix of impassioned, impactful songs – pure, heartfelt soul set against a backdrop of modern R&B. With her 2013 album, Love and War, Braxton earned back-to-back hits with “The One” as well as with the title track. In recent years, she’s become a favorite on television, thanks to WE’s hit series Braxton Family Values (and its spinoff, Tamar & Vince), and also as a host on the FOX talk show, The Real.
At NJPAC, Braxton will share the evening with special guest Joe (aka Joseph Lewis Thomas), a singer-songwriter who’s been a force in R&B and soul music for over a decade now. Known for seasoning his smooth, sultry R&B sound with hip-hop beats, Joe has earned two GRAMMY Awards for “Best R&B Album” (for My Name Is Joe and Better Days) and remains a regular on the Billboard 200 and R&B/Hip Hop charts.
