Every day, whether through mainstream media, social media, or word of mouth, our collective consciousness is inundated with information – some valuable, most inflammatory – around COVID-19. It’s almost impossible to maintain a clear head, stay informed, and not be swept under by the wave of content that is published. What celebrity or politician has now tested positive? What is the current definition of “essential employees”? Where can you get an N95 face mask? Does the local grocery store have toilet paper in supply or not?
No matter how diligent we feel the need to be to not fall down the rabbit hole of click bait and sensational news around COVID-19, shelter-in-place measures being taken in different parts of the world, let alone this country or New Jersey in particular, and the government’s response to fight the spread of the virus without villainizing its citizens, we still want to be duly informed of the state of the pandemic, and the spread of the virus, particularly in our vicinity.
Thankfully, Tomas Hoyos, Co-founder and CEO of voros.com had the idea to compile the latest data in New Jersey, in a real-time guide that we can use to stay updated.

In these times, most people have found themselves with far more time on their hands than options of what to do with that time. It’s a time of significant discomfort for some and a time of true loss and sorrow for others.
As the COVID-19 pandemic had dramatically shifted our sense of normalcy, priorities, and the routines of our day-to-day lives, the team at The Newark Times decided that this is an important opportunity for us to allow this platform to serve our audience and community as we reflect and share our observations, perspectives, and lessons learned from this experience. In that effort, we are sharing those perspectives and lessons learned in a video series on our social media platforms. You may have seen a few in circulation already but our hope is to use the opportunity we now have to glean on our experiences during this unprecedented time.
Now is a time of expansion and great magnified perception and we would love to hear from you. If you are interested in sharing, inbox us on our Facebook page.
