For the fourth consecutive year, NJ TRANSIT has achieved recognition on Forbes’ esteemed list of the best places to work. In the 2024 Forbes America’s Best Employers List, NJ TRANSIT was acknowledged as one of the nation’s top large employers. This honor comes on the heels of the agency’s recent triumph as the winner of the 2023 American Public Transportation Association (APTA) award for Outstanding Public Transportation System, a distinction earned from among the largest transit systems in North America.
Governor Phil Murphy lauded NJ TRANSIT’s latest accolade, stating, “This significant honor confirms that NJ TRANSIT is not just a world-class public transportation system but a nation-leading employer as well, one that prioritizes the growth, satisfaction, and inclusion of the men and women who keep New Jersey moving.”
NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin S. Corbett emphasized the agency’s commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and employee satisfaction, stating, “Forbes’ prestigious and independent evaluation has once again recognized NJ TRANSIT’s considerable efforts over the past six years to build a culture of excellence, inclusiveness and employee satisfaction – this time naming us one of the best employers in America.”
The 2024 Forbes America’s Best Employers List was compiled through independent surveys involving over 170,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people within the United States. NJ TRANSIT secured the 178th spot among all large employers nationwide and ranked in the top eight within the “Transportation and Logistics” industry.
The evaluations contributing to the final score were divided into two categories: personal evaluations given by employees themselves and public evaluations given by friends, family members, or industry peers. NJ TRANSIT excelled in the “Transportation and Logistics” industry, securing a prominent position among the nation’s top employers.
The collaboration with Statista, a renowned research and analysis service, further solidified the credibility of the survey. Statista partnered with Forbes to conduct the survey, relying on its expertise as a leading data and business intelligence portal.
