Jeffrey J. Holt, MPA has been appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Clara Maass Medical Center (CMMC).  As COO, Jeff will provide executive operational leadership, direction and vision to specific areas of the hospital with system-wide strategic initiatives.

“Jeff is a seasoned, results-driven executive who is well qualified to lead the operational practices at Clara Maass Medical Center” said Mary Ellen Clyne, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Clara Maass Medical Center.  “I am confident that he is the right individual to further our success especially as we continue to expand our services to meet the needs of our community.” Clyne said. 

Holt brings to Clara Maass Medical Center an extensive background in leading transformational change focused on enhancing financial performance, operational redesign, strategic planning, physician recruitment and alignment, clinical program development, quality of care, patient experience, employee engagement, and reinvesting in innovation and technology. Most recently, he was employed by Kaleida Health from 2013-2018 as the Chief Operating Officer at Millard Fillmore Suburban and DeGraff Memorial Hospitals and as the System Vice President of Clinical Services. There, he implemented utilization management initiatives, created key physician leadership roles, and facilitated alignment with the community to develop high-quality clinical programs. He also created operational plans for all clinical services in addition to leading physician recruitment and engagement imperatives.

Prior to his time at Kaleida Health, Holt was Vice President of Neuroscience and Orthopedic Service Lines at Meridian Health which was recognized as a National High Performer in Neurosurgery by U.S. News and World Report in 2014. Additionally, he has held key administrative leadership roles that included Senior Cardiology Administrator at NYU Langone, SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, and Cardiology Pulmonology Internal Practice Administrator at Brook-Island Medical Associates in Brooklyn.

Holt earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (with a concentration in Health Policy and Management) from NYU Wagner School of Public Service and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the State University of New York College at Geneseo where he was a member of the Beta Beta Beta chapter of the National Biological Honors Society. Holt is also associated with the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Medical Group Management Association, and the Administrators of Internal Medicine. Focused on contributing to the community, he served as member of the Board of Directors of The Health Sciences Charter School in Buffalo, New York and is an adjunct faculty member at Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY.
