On Tuesday, October 28th, The Newark Public Library will celebrate 125 years of service to the community with an exciting night of celebration and fund raising.  Booked for the Evening will take place at the historic Main Library at 5 Washington Street and will feature noted author and columnist Arianna Huffington.

Ms. Huffington is the chair, president, and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, a nationally syndicated columnist, and author of fourteen books. Her latest, Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder, was published in March and debuted at the top of the New York Times Best Seller list.

Newark native and media veteran Mikki Taylor will be the honoree. Ms. Taylor is Editor-at-Large for Essence. A successful entrepreneur, writer, and motivational speaker, she is the Founder and President of Mikki Taylor Enterprises, LLC.  Ms. Taylor regards Newark as the place where her dreams were nurtured and her purpose began.

Library Director, Wilma J. Grey stated, “We are looking forward to another wonderful event at the Library. We are absolutely thrilled to honor Mikki Taylor and to have featured speaker Arianna Huffington at this benefit. They are both incredibly talented women who are leaders in the world of publishing.”

Booked for the Evening will be held in Centennial Hall on the second floor of the Main Library. The Cocktail Reception begins at 6:00 pm and the program at 7:00 p.m.
