The Newark Regional Business Partnership (NRBP) has announced new leadership roles within its Board of Directors. Jennifer Mazawey from K&L Gates steps up as board chair, with Mary Makfinsky from Popular Bank as vice-chair. Kevin Collins from Invest Newark will serve as treasurer, and Sarah Jones from Horizon BCBSNJ is the new secretary.

Jennifer Mazawey shared her enthusiasm: “I was thrilled to serve as vice-chair and am honored to continue as chair. NRBP has significant plans for the new year, and I’m excited to lead the efforts to achieve our goals.”

The Executive Committee also includes past chairs Calvin Ledford from PSEG and Darrell K. Terry, Sr. from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, among others. The board welcomed at-large members Renard Barnes from PS&S and Mitch Cahn from Unionwear.

NRBP recently honored outgoing board chair Monica Slater Stokes during the December 5 holiday celebration. Reflecting on her tenure, she stated, “It was an honor to serve as board chair, especially through the pandemic. I’m proud of our work and look forward to supporting future initiatives.”

New board members joining NRBP are Marlene Bauer from InGroup, Sam Caucci from 1Huddle, and several others, bringing diverse perspectives to the organization.

Chip Hallock, president and CEO of NRBP, remarked, “Our board reflects the diversity of our membership and business community. We’re excited to welcome six new members and thankful for the ongoing dedication of our executive committee and board members.”

As NRBP gears up for the new year, it values the contribution of its board and is eager to collaborate on initiatives that enhance the growth of its members and the Newark business community.
