New Jersey Performing Arts Center presents an afternoon with six-time Tony Award and two-time Grammy winner Audra McDonald, April 19th at 3pm.  Audra McDonald is as equally at home on Broadway and opera house stages as in film, television and recording studios.  She has sung with major orchestras throughout the country and has appeared in many American Songbook broadcasts.

There is no performer held in more esteem by her colleagues in every genre; the epitome of the consummate artist.  On Broadway, McDonald has been seen in leading roles in Master Class, Ragtime, A Raisin In The Sun, and Porgy and Bess.  She made her operatic debut in 2006 with Houston Grand Opera and has premiered music by composer John Adams in concert.  On television, she has been featured in Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters’ First 100 Years, the ABC remake of Annie, Wit on HBO, and Private Practice.  In 2012, Audra McDonald was named the new official host of the PBS series Live From Lincoln Center.
