United Way of Greater Newark has partnered with Greater Newark Health Care Coalition, one of four not-for-profit regional hubs in New jersey working to improve patient care and outcomes, to create an equitable vaccine project that seeks to increase vaccine confidence, vaccine access, and reduce the rate of vaccine disparities across Orange, East Orange, and Irvington. This strategy includes increasing vaccination trust and rates among the residents of Orange, East Orange and Irvington through popular education, community support, culturally appropriate messaging, and vaccine distribution. 

To that end, UWGN is seeking proposals from Orange, East Orange and Irvington based 501(c)3 organizations to: 

  • Conduct outreach and education to residents in Orange, East Orange, and Irvington; 
  • Distribute materials about the vaccine; 
  • Assist residents in scheduling vaccine appointments; and 
  • Host a regular mobile vaccine site (with an identified clinical partner) for a specific period. 

Organizations applying to conduct a mobile distribution sites may apply for grants up to $25,000 over a 6-month funding period. Organizations applying to conduct outreach and education may apply for grants up to $10,000 over a 6-month funding period. 

All proposals are due Friday, August 13th, 2021, at 5:00 PM EST.
