This Week at Military Park: Live Music, Yoga, Tai Chi, Immunization Fair, and More…

October is Live Music Month in Military Park! Come out to Military Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays in October from 12 PM – 2 PM for great live music performances. The next performance will be on Tuesday, October 8th in the south of the park.

Yoga 

Military Park will continue to have a FREE weekly yoga class on Wednesdays through the fall and winter season! On Wednesdays from 12:15 PM – 1 PM the Yoga class with Newark Yoga Movement will take place in the Historical Society which is located at 52 Park Place. Yoga mats are provided.

Tai Chi 

Tai Chi with Shaka of NCMC is back this Wednesday from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM! This is Shaka’s last Tai Chi class of the season. These evening classes are perfect for all levels, so come out and try a class! 

Immunization Fair 

The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey is collaborating with Essex Metro Immunization Coalition (EMIC) members to host an Immunization Health Fair on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 12pm-3:30pm in the Northern part of  Military Park in Newark, NJ. 

The event is free and open to the community.  There will be wellness information and resources, giveaways and educational materials, particularly related to immunizations and preventive care. We are also working with community partners to provide influenza vaccine at the health fair. For more information about the event, please contact Kendra Julien at 973-268-2280 ext. 119.
